Terms and Conditions

Payment
A deposit of 25% will be taken on confirmation of all orders, with the remainder paid 2 weeks prior to collection/delivery.  For orders, taken within two weeks of required date, payment will be required in full on confirmation of the order. We book our cakes on a first paid, first booked basis, if payments are not received your cake will not be made.Preferred payment method is by online bank transfer (BACS) or by Cheque – this must be paid in advance and your Cheque must have cleared before collection – Cheques will not be accepted on collection unless agreed by Kelly prior to collection/delivery– Cash will be accepted on collection/delivery by prior arrangement. If paying by cash please bring the correct monies as we are unable to provide you with change.

Delivery/Collection
Collection of your cake will be from Sunflower Cottage, Wells Road, Draycott, Somerset, BS27 3SN.
Your cake will be boxed and ready for transportation, all stacked cakes will have supports to ensure they can be transported to their destination safely.
Please note that once collected, the full responsibility for the safety of the cake is with the client and Sunflower Bakery is not liable for any damages thereafter.
Delivery of your cake will be made by Kelly. We do not employ couriers to deliver our cakes.Sunflower Bakery offers a delivery service and are able to deliver within a 50 mile radius. There is a flat rate fee of £15 plus a transport fee of 50p per mile.Please note delivery is subject to availability.

Delivery of a wedding cake
When delivery and set up is required, Kelly will make arrangements directly with the venue to arrange and discuss delivery times.  Cakes will usually be delivered on the morning of the wedding or, occasionally, the evening before.

Delivery terms and conditions
In the case of an unavoidable event, such as a car accident or poor road conditions during delivery, Sunflower Bakery cannot be held liable for more than the price of the cake described in the order. If your cake is being delivered to an outdoor event, Sunflower Bakery will NOT be held responsible for the conditions of the cake following set-up.  Due to the effects of outdoor weather conditions, eg. extreme heat; sudden rain; unsteady table on uneven ground; wind blowing undesirable items such as leaves, sand, dirt, insects and other wildlife, the cake and cake elements may not hold up and cannot be insured past satisfactory delivery and set up. While Sunflower Bakery promises to deliver quality products and services, we cannot be held responsible for anything that could happen to the cake once the delivery is complete.

Cancellation
Should you cancel your wedding cake order more than 2 weeks before completion, please note that the holding/confirmation deposit is non-refundable and any special ordered items and work already undertaken in accordance with your order is chargeable in addition. For wedding cake orders cancelled within 2 weeks of the completion date, the full balance is payable.

Cake Storage
Once you have taken possession of your cake please keep it in its box until required and place on a flat surface.  Cakes should be kept in a cool room, away from direct sunlight and moisture until ready to display.
DO NOT PUT IT IN THE FRIDGE – This will cause moisture to attach to the icing and could ruin the decoration.
Your cake will be at its best for up to 4 days after your event, and left over cake must be stored in an airtight container.

Cake Toppers/Decorations
Kelly can only provide cake toppers, flowers and decorations for cakes that have been made by her.

Non-Edible Items
Please note that some cakes may contain non edible elements.  For instance, Stacked/tiered wedding cakes will have white plastic dowels in to support the tiers.  These should be removed prior to consumption.  Any other non-edible elements will be noted and given to you (or in some cases, the venue) on delivery/collection.

Allergies and Special Dietary Requirements
Gluten, wheat and Nut free cakes can be provided. However please note that although cakes may be Gluten, Wheat and nut free, they will have been prepared in an area where these ingredients have previously been used and may contain the slightest of traces.Alcohol – Please be aware that small amounts of alcohol are used in some decorating techniques – if this is a problem please make Kelly aware at the earliest opportunity as an alternative can be used.

Cake Classes – Cancellation Policy
In the unlikely event that Sunflower Bakery has to cancel a class, a full refund will be offered. We are unable to offer any refunds should you decide to cancel or are unable to attend your class. Please double check dates and travel arrangements before you make a booking. We cannot be held liable for any money spent, such as travel arrangements, hotel bookings for any cancelled classes or if you require to cancel your course. It is important that you have the appropriate insurance in place that will cover any additional costs for any cancellations.If Sunflower Bakery has to cancel a class and you have already made a booking, the refund amount from Sunflower Bakery Limited will be limited to the total amount of money you spent on the class. If you have already made travel and accommodation bookings, these would need to be reclaimed via your own insurance policy and Sunflower Bakery Limited will not be held liable for any costs for this.
